OAKMONT GREEN TUESDAY LEAGUE - 2025

Fees:  Entrance Fee: $30/person         Greens Fees: $15.00          Cart: $12.00

PLAY - First match April 8th.  Shotgun start @ 5:00 PM the first two Tuesdays; 5:30 PM thereafter.  No horn to start league play. Tee off at the designated time .  Each team will have 4 golfers per night.  The 4 golfers shall be from the roster list submitted when the league starts. By mutual agreement, any combination of flights is acceptable.  This means anyone can play anyone from the opposing team.  If no agreement is reached, Flight A player will play his opponent in Flight A, Flight B vs. opponent in Flight B, and so on.

Use of Gold (Senior) Tees:  If anyone 60 and older who wishes to use the gold (senior) tees for the first time, they must inform the league manager.  We can then calculate your new handicap.

SCORING - Match play will be used, with a ceiling on averages.  If Team 1 golfer has a 45 average and Team 2 golfer has a 49 average, golfer from Team 2 will be given 4 strokes, on the 4 hardest holes.  The exception to this is that the maximum average a player can have is 54.  Also, the maximum strokes given per hole cannot exceed two.   Each hole will count one point with ties being 1/2 point to each player.  The player who wins the most points for the 9 holes will receive another extra point.  Lowest net score average will be given 1 points to make a total of 11 possible points.  Each team can win a total of 44 points per night.  We do not give strokes on par 3's.  This may result in 2 less strokes given to a player on any given night.

HANDICAPS (Index)Index’s from previous year(s) will be used the first night.  The WHS allows for only 18 hole handicaps.  We no longer calculate your handicap for 9 holes.  Your 9 hole handicap is derived from your 18 hole when playing a 9 hole match. Index will be recalculated every 2 weeks thereafter by taking all previous 9-hole match scores into consideration.  The maximum handicap a person can have for 9 holes is 54.  Players will not give any strokes on par 3’s.  Players will play them straight up.  No more than 2 strokes will be given on any other hole.  This effectively makes the maximum handicap we can give at 14.

SUBSTITUTES - Substitutes should have averages established at Oakmont Green by playing at least one previous 9-hole round of golf.  If a new team or team member doesn’t have an average on the first night, they/he will play 9 holes, to establish an average.  If anyone subs during the season with no recorded average, that player’s average will be the score he/she shoots that evening.

Playoff Rounds  - We will have a playoff for the top 7 teams in the league. The top team overall will receive a bye during week 1. The remaining 6 teams are then seeded based on points. The playoff teams will be reseeded after each round so the highest remaining will play the lowest remaining.

GENERAL RULES - 1) Winter rules will be used, which means that your lie can be improved within a scorecard, everywhere but hazards, as long as your ball is not moved away from any obstacle or closer to the pin.  You get relief from fences when your swing is impeded by the fence.  White stakes are played the same as red stakes in league play.

2) Out of bounds (indicated by White Stakes) and Lost Ball penalties are  only a one-stroke penalty.  To help speed up play, if you hit a ball out of bounds or lose a ball you may choose to drop at the closest point where your ball went out of bounds or it was lost and take a one-stroke penalty.  Example: You hit your second shot on #4 (par 5, along railroad) out of bounds on left.  You may take a drop at the point the ball went out and without penalty you would be hitting three, so add one-stroke penalty and you are hitting four

3) All other local and USGA rules will be observed.

4) The maximum score on any hole is double par.  If you reach double par, pick up your ball.  Your opponent wins the hole if he makes his putt for a double par or less.  If he/she reaches double par before his ball is in the hole, the hole is halved.  In this instance, Golfgenius will most likely have you as halving the hole if a player holes out with double par and their opponent picks up at double par.  In this instance the player that picked up should record one more stroke on the card than their opponent.

5) Subs will be used when available for any member not attending.  In the event that a sub is not available the opponent will play against par.  Par is considered your scoring average, so playing against your own average or the course will be required.  Blinds will be used only when a team or half a team does not show for a scheduled match.  If any full member of any team is playing in a pairing the single will play against par.

6) Local Rule:  Free lift from all flowerbeds, wooden yardage markers.

7) Skins Competition/Par 3 Competition:  Each league night we collect money for skins ($5).  We will include all closest to pin money in the prize pool.  Each week 2 par 3's will be selected to play closest to pin for cash of $25.00.  Two other par 3's will be selected for the winner getting a sleeve of Prov1x-.   All players will participate in CTP.

8) Barrier Trees:  We will eliminate the ruling this year.  There are no barrier trees anymore.  Rulings for balls that come to rest under trees are played as an unplayable lie with penalty of one stroke, if it can not be played.  For speed of play, players may drop laterally to the area where the ball went in the tree, which can be a clear line of sight to the green.  A penalty stroke must be taken.

The clubhouse is concerned with the pace of play.  Players need to play quickly, which means 15 minutes per hole.  Everyone needs to keep pace with the group in front of him or her.  If you don’t see anyone in front of you, your group has fallen off the pace and need to catch up!  If you’re looking for a lost ball, don’t spend more than three minutes looking for it.  Play ready golf everywhere!  Riders: drop your partner off at his ball and go immediately to your ball.  Hit your shot, then return to pick up your partner.  When putting, continue to putt until you hole out, unless you are in someone’s line.  When it’s cart path only, take several clubs with you to your ball.

PRIZES - 1) Each night a sleeve of balls will be awarded to the closest to the pin winner on both par 3’s.

2)  End of season team: 1st Place    4 -  $80.00 Gift Certificates & $240.00 Cash

                                       2nd Place   4 - $60.00 Gift Certificates & $200 Cash

                                       3rd Place    4 - $40.00 Gift Certificates & $100 Cash

                                       4th Place    4 - $25.00 Gift Certificates & $80 Cash

RAIN CANCELLATION POLICY - The league will not be cancelled until at least 4:30 PM on the day of the match, if raining.  If league play is cancelled due to inclement weather anytime after at least one team finishes five holes, it constitutes a match.  Bring scorecards in and record points earned to that point.  Everyone will then split points for all holes not played. Also, everyone will split points for low net score (½ point per player).  No scores are to be recorded.  See an employee, if you have questions.

GolfGenius

We will be using Golf Genius software once again to score league.  Players should get the golfgenius app from Apple or android stores for free asap.  I will get you registered soon and have all of the information and schedules at your fingertips.  Just waiting to finalize teams and get the 2025 season started.

Also, if/when you finish on a par three anytime this season, please bring in the closest to the pin sign.    Thank you.
